If you are replacing a Water by Culligan filter (FXRC, FXRT, MXRC or HXRT), WR97X10006, or Kenmore part number 46-9905 for the first time, you will need to purchase this adapter in addition to the GWF filter. The adapter attaches to the top of the GWF filter prior to installation. The next time you replace the filter, the adapter will stay connected to the refrigerator, so you won’t need to buy another one. NOTE: The Water by Culligan filter shown in the picture is for reference only (it is not included with the adapter).
